The Journey Continues...
Today! I wont use my words to harm myself or others.
It is what I "SAY" It is!
No matter what this day brings, I KNOW that everything is working for my GOOD!
Today, My FOCUS is on the careful construction of my WORDS. WORDS are weapons capable of producing seeds that are planted and watered by REPETITION.
Here is an example.
I remember all of the times I would casually refer to myself as "fat" or "greedy" and even though I said these things playfully, free from malice intent, it planted a seed. I nurtured this seed with REPETITION. I also remember when I refused to say those things and would look in the mirror and SAY to myself that I was 145# and physically fit. I would make myself recall the energy and feeling of wellness that I had at my most healthy point in life. At that time I was 242.5# and felt like crap. That was January, 2010, by June 2012 I was 156#. I have had countless people ask me how I did it? The truth is, I honestly started by simply refusing to SAY that I was anything but healthy, fit , and 145#. Of course I had to do a lot of actual work, I changed my eating habits and worked out, but first I changed my WORDS. Weight is just 1 example, here is another example of...
What you SAY is what you get. Many women SAY "ALL men are dogs". But, will then act surprised when all the men they meet prove that they are right. I do not know 1 woman that SAYS this, or practices male bashing that has a man that does not fully live up to the WORDS that she SPEAKS over him! Yet, woman will sit single, married or in a committed relationship and have these conversations giving acceptance to and drawing to them those character types with WORDS. I am NOT judging and have been guilty of this practice before I was aware of the POWER OF WORDS!
What are you SPEAKING into your life that you don't want? Yet, you continue to nurture the seeds with WORDS? Are you constantly saying your broke? Is a "Good" man hard to find? Are they hating on you at work? Is it that women are usually jealous of you? Are men always intimidated by you? Is it that your husband is just like one of the kids? Is it that,.. if it ain't one thing its another?
Is it that whenever a situation is "bad" you say "it is what it is"? Yes, that's it! "it is what it is"... I absolutely hate this cliche that has gone viral sort of speak.
Let me explain why I want you to remove this from your vocabulary FOREVER..
SAY it out loud "it is what it is". Then recall when you have used it. I'm waiting... Has it EVER been said when speaking of a positive situation? Well, perhaps it has but MOST of the time it is said following something negative that no one would purposely attract to themselves. Now say it again out loud, "it is what it is", this statement invites a permanent placement to a temporary situation that we nurture with WORDS. THINK ABOUT IT! I can recall talking myself into MOST situations and circumstances good and bad not INSTANTLY but CONTINUOUSLY. What you say is what you get.
Don't take my word for it.... Genesis 1
I know you have read it read again!
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was[a] on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
6 Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.
9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree thatyields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 So the evening and the morning were the third day.
14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
20 Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”23 So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[b] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
I wonder what would have happened if God SAID what he SAW?
Today, I challenge you to WATCH your MOUTH! It may not change over night, but as you see it took God more than a day to create the earth and HE IS GOD! Be easy on yourself, Ask yourself what you are saying? Ask youself, what it is that you REALLY want to manifest in your life. NOW... WRITE what you WANT then SAY what you want until you SEE what you SAY. I know its not easy, but it is possible after all "God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;"
That means you too can create things with Words, whether you want what you say or not you will get it.Yes, other animals God created can communicate, but NONE have the power of words!
Dear heavenly father,
Let my words be life producing things that edify and uplift my self and others. Allow me to use the power of words to speak those things into existence that which I desire and to cast down those things I do not want in my life. Allow me to carefully choose my weapons as tools for building and never as a method for tearing down and destruction of anything that you meant for my good. Forgive me for using my words unwisely and continue to allow the holy spirit to gently remind me when I am not speaking life over any area of my life, so that I may immediately correct my words, in Jesus name, amen.
This indeed has blessed my life. Since this year started I have been mindful of the things that I speak concerning my life and circumstances. I remain sensitive and attentive to my thoughts ensuring that I take captive every negative thought and replace with positive as it and if it enters. This was a great post and I look forward to reading them through out the year. God's bless you!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you as well, Tiffany! Please keep in mind this for the rest of your life and continue to speak those things which produce greatness in your life. I certainly want you to read and continue to share through this year, but I ALSO want you to write your lifes vision and rehearse it both in WORDS and Actions! I have known you ALL your life and I see GREATNESS in you! Thanks soooo much for sharing !

This is so on point. God shared this with me many years ago when I first read The Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Myers. That book revolutionized my thinking and I became more aware of the power of my words. Great entry!
